Sunday, we were having coffee with an old pal who’s never been very
much into cars. He had taken his son to the local hobby emporium, where
they’d marveled over “those cars with the tab sticking out of the bottom
so they don’t fly off the track.”Were we gajillionaires, we would buy him this for Christmas. We’re sure his wife wouldn’t mind a replica of Virginia International Raceway dominating the living room of their modest San Francisco apartment. But we are not gajillionaires, so we will leave this purchase up to you, our better-heeled readers. And our dear friend’s son may never know the joy of staging his own Lightning Lap re-enactment.
