As
part of the elective course ‘Graphic Language of Products’ a design for
a Ferrari bike has been designed. First an analysis on different levels
of the Ferrari brand has been made. We have distinguished the
difference between graphics (2D), such as the logo, striping and Italian
flag; form and shape elements (3D); and everything in-between (2,5D).
By dissecting the brand, we’ve incorporated the brand’s most remarkable
design features and translated the Ferrari brand values into a new
design and averted the bike from becoming another piece of uninspiring
red Ferrari merchandise.
Skills: Sketching, Prototyping, CAD modelling, Brand
analysis, Defining and transforming brand values and characteristics
into a new product, Bicycle design.
