Manchester City midfielder David Silva has been forced off inside 10 minutes of his side's League Cup tie against Newcastle.With key matches coming up against Manchester United and CSKA Moscow, the former Valencia man limped off after hurting his left knee in a collision with Ryan Taylor.
The Spain international received initial treatment for the knock and, though he attempted to continue, he eventually had to be replaced by Samir Nasri in the ninth minute.
Silva has scored twice for the Premier League champions so far this season but looks set to be a doubt for Sunday's derby game against the Red Devils as they look to bounce back from defeat to West Ham.
