Photo: Killian Bell/Cult of Android.Samsung could be understood for questioning the brand loyalty of its South Korean fans: iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have reportedly racked up a massive 100,000 preorders since going on sale in the country Friday. That’s more than three times the number of South Korean preorders for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4.

Phone carrier KT Corporation said it picked up 10,000 preorders in just one minute, and a total of 50,000 in 30 minutes. LG Uplus, meanwhile, said it had taken 20,000 orders for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in just 20 minutes.
The country’s largest mobile carrier, SK Telecom, wouldn’t give exact figures, but did acknowledge that both the first and second batch of preorders for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been fully booked. Apple’s new smartphones launch Oct. 31 in South Korea.
In some ways, this is not surprise, given that the iPhone 6 line has been a monster hit everywhere in the world, selling a massive 10 million-plus units in its first weekend alone. The Galaxy Note 4 sold more than 4.5 million units in just under a month: still not bad for most smartphone makers, but slightly less impressive than its predecessor this time last year.
